BIPDT National Pet Code
The National Pet Code is run by the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers. It has three levels Bronze, Silver, and Gold.  The aim of the code is to encourage owners to train their dog in basic obedience, to learn the importance of caring for and handling their dog. As well as being made aware of laws relating to dog ownership.



Bronze
The following tests must be passed to obtain a pass at Bronze level:

Getting out and into a vehicle

Going through a door way

Control while meeting people, friendly stranger

Reaction to another dog

Controlled walking on a lead

Recall and control from free play

Change of position from sit to down

Grooming and examination

Good dog ownership and the law
Silver
The Silver level builds on the skills learnt by the owner on the Bronze.  The following tests must be passed to achieve a pass.

Getting in and out of a vehicle

Going through a doorway

Control while meeting people

Reaction to another dog

Controlled walking + change of pace + examiner to pet dog
Stay dog tied up and owner/handler out of sight for 4 minutes

Recall to heel

Hide and Seek

Examination and Grooming

The law and good dog ownership

Gold
The Gold level is the hight level in the code. To gain a pass the following tests must be passed:

Getting in and out of a vehicle

Going through a doorway

Control while meeting a friendly stranger

Reaction to other dogs

Controlled walking + change of pace + examiner to pet dog + distractions

Recall from free play + distractions

Hide and seek

Stop or drop on command

If a dog has already obtained a pass at Silver level the examiner can choose more exercises from the Silver level for retest.
